BAY 9
ISO DRAG · DRAG.THEBANDO.CC · IGNIUM LLC
BAY 9 is the waterfront drag on the lot. THE BANDO's hub copy is: tune your rig, line up against the clock, and nail the launch. The game's own title screen says it shorter — crossy-chunk cars. Hold gas, beat the tree, dump the bottle. Play it at drag.thebando.cc.
PLAY BAY 9The meta description on that hostname is the rest of the pitch: pixel garage, custom liveries, Forza-style build sheets, prove it on the tree. The title strip is ISO DRAG. A race is a quarter-mile (402 in the sim) against a named opponent and a time to beat.
HOW TO RUN
BAY 9's own How screen is five steps. This is that screen, not a rewrite:
- Stage. Hold GAS. Keep holding through the ambers. Lifting and stabbing on amber is a red light.
- Green. Stay on GAS. The car only moves if you hold it.
- Shift. Watch the EARLY / PERFECT / LATE bar. When the marker hits green, tap SHIFT. Early and late still change gear; miss dumps RPM.
- Bottle. Hold N2O to dump it. It is not a toggle. The tank empties while you hold.
- Build. Lot for chassis. Bay for sheets and stages. Paint in the studio.
On the tree, the HUD says HOLD GAS TO STAGE, then KEEP HOLDING — WAIT FOR GREEN, then GO. A false start is a red light. During the run it tells you to hold gas and build RPM, wait for the green band, tap shift when the marker is in it, and hold once you are in top gear. If you never leave first, the post-race blurb is blunt: staying in 1st is a one-minute run.
CONTROLS
From the How screen, and from the pads on the race view:
- GAS — hold. Keyboard: W (also Arrow Up). On-screen: the gas pad. The car does not move unless you hold it.
- SHIFT — tap, not hold. Keyboard: Space, or Left/Right Shift. On-screen: TAP SHIFT. The window is the green band on the EARLY / PERFECT / LATE bar.
- N2O — hold to dump. Keyboard: N (also E). On-screen: N2O. The tank drains while the pad is held; empty is empty.
- Esc pauses.
The title footer prints the same three verbs the pads use: HOLD GAS · TAP SHIFT · HOLD N2O.
PRACTICE, LOT, BAY
Practice (no tree) is a run with no tree and no purse — the How screen's line is “learn the shift band.” Race is the real tree against the current opponent. Lot is chassis. Bay is sheets and stages (engine, gearbox, tires, aero, weight, bottle). Paint is in the studio. Those are the doors on the title screen, not extra modes invented here.
Shift quality is graded on the flash: perfect, early, late, or miss. A miss dumps RPM. Nitro is a hold, not a latch — dump it while you are already moving, not as a second launch button.
TIPS
- Do not stab the gas on amber. That is the red-light rule on the How screen.
- Keep holding through green. Throttle is not a tap-to-go.
- Tap SHIFT in the green band. Early and late still get the gear; a miss costs RPM.
- Work up through the gears. Sitting in first is how a quarter-mile becomes a minute.
- Hold N2O to spend the bottle. Letting go stops the dump; there is no toggle.
- Use Practice when you only want the shift band, without the tree or a purse.
THE BANDO's hub still calls it playable and free in the browser, no account. Opponents and liveries in the garage are part of the game, not real drivers.
